Floyd tells the story of Fred Vellence of Rock City Furniture in North Little Rock Arkansas. Fred asked Floyd for help. In 50 minutes Floyd told him how.
Fred immediately, from the 1st day forward, went from serious accidents weekly to going over 2 years in a row without a lost time accident.
The course is two hours long. It is for managers and safety personnel. Very fast paced and a fun course.
Floyd Fenix teaches the course personally. His personal stories and experiences on implementing it in his companies provide graphic detail on how and why it works.

When employees “Want To” rather than “Have To,” things get done darn quick and well.
The art of getting employees to “Want To” is called Leadership. – Floyd Fenix
I became a manager and did not know how to manage. What a catastrophe. I scrambled, read mountains of articles, books and took management courses. I averaged reading one management book per week for 3 1/2 years. After years of struggling and doing everything wrong a manager can do wrong, (at least once) I became pretty good. I finally got to where I could manage.
But, all the layers of management who ran my company for me were the ones who really needed to know how to manage. They were the ones who made my company perform, or not perform.
There was no one place I could send my managers to get the education they needed, (or I would have sent them).
Out of sheer desperation, I devised a minimum list of what a manager needed to know and I taught my managers personally. Not only did it work, it worked great.
I had a career of over 20 years turning around troubled companies. This was the secret ingredient that made me successful. Simply teaching my managers how to manage (and get performance).
Back to back, my managers gave me “World Class” results in productivity, quality, service levels, less waste, and better margins. Employee turnover became virtually nil. Further, we were able to shut down accidents from the first day forward and set incredible safety records.
These are the courses I taught and further refined over the years. Others have found the courses very fast paced . . . fun . . . and very beneficial.
The speed of business, technology, communications, customer service expectations, and a whole range of things that affect business plans and tactics have changed.
What motivates people to “Want To” perform and do a good job has not changed.
People will still do excellent work for you and stay long term. You just need to educate your management – top down – how to make employees “Want To” do a good job and “Want To” stay long term and perform.
Your managers are the key. Performance can be the only measure.
This is called leadership. Leadership is what this course is all about.
Floyd Fenix is an experienced, “hands-on” General Manager, Vice President and President who turned around troubled companies and did new start up operations throughout the United States, for over 20 years. This gave him the equivalent of several lifetimes of business wisdom and experiences.
Floyd now lives in Texarkana, Arkansas. His various business interests do not prevent him from enjoying his many avocations. These include restoring antique cars, golfing, touring in his RV, flying, jet skiing on the local lakes, fishing and building hydro racers. He frequently drives his 1928 Model A Ford and his 1939 Plymouth pickup. He and Nancy drive the bright red 1940 Ford (with a corvette motor) to area car shows or swing dancing events. Last year he started growing 12 colors of fragrant large hybrid roses in his rose garden. He writes a weekly newspaper column entitled, “I am old enough to remember when . . . . “. He & Nancy are enjoying life!
